Alberta "Bertie" Leona McDaniel, died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Park Villa Nursing Home, Clyde, KS. Alberta was born July 3, 1931 at Aurora, KS, the daughter of Leo Oliver & Mary Josephine (Collins) Baltazor. Alberta retired from the Cloud County Bank after 30 years of service. She also maintained the kitchen at Cloud County Community College for several years and was Hostess at the Concordia Moose Lodge for 10 years. Alberta was affectionately known as Bertie and Mrs. Mac, and will be remembered for her hours of community service to others. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia. She married Harland Glenn McDaniel on Aug. 16, 1950 in Concordia. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1995. She is survived by her four sons: Bill McDaniel & friend Mandy, Concordia, KS, Jim McDaniel, Rossville, KS, John McDaniel & wife Deborah, Naperville, IL & Michael McDaniel; four daughters: Cathy White & husband Greg, Clay Center, KS, Karen Eubanks & husband Jerry, Concordia, KS, Glenda Weaver & husband Richard, Aurora, KS & Debra Benson & husband Jeff, Salina, KS; daughter in law, Amy McDaniel, Clay Center, KS; one sister, Oline Wagner, Nebraska; 24 grandchildren & 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harland; her son, Tony McDaniel; her parents; twin grandsons; two daughter in laws; two sisters & a brother. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Tues., Aug. 3, 2010 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM with an Altar Society Rosary at 5 PM and Vigil services at 7 PM, Mon, Aug. 2, 2010 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. The family suggests memorials to the Park Villa Nursing Home, Clyde in care of the funeral home.
