Alena I. Deal, age 87, formerly of Concordia, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at her home in Minden, Nevada. She was born on October 17, 1938, in Concordia, Kansas, to DeEstle and Margaret (Huff) Deal.

Alena is survived by her nephew, Harry Fredericks of Emporia, Kansas; her nieces, Sue Lawhorn of Salina, Kansas, Cheryl Dupes and her husband Ralph of Rolla, Missouri, and Ruth Garrison of Salina, Kansas; as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Derald Deal; her sister, Althea Fredericks; her nephew, Patrick Deal; and her niece, Kathleen Rice.

Alena chose cremation, and no services are planned. She will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia, Kansas.
