Annette Ida Ashland was born November 23, 1920 in Amesbury, Massachusetts to Philip and Blanche Lemoine Cote.  She passed away on October 30, 2007 at Cloud County Health Center at the age of 86. She grew up on a farm near Aurora and as a teenager she moved to Concordia and worked as a housekeeper for Dr. Galvin and other families in the area. She married George S. Ashland on October 18, 1946 in Belleville, KS. He preceded her in death on February 20, 1998. Along with her husband she operated a cafe in Clyde. She worked for 18 years as a housekeeper for Park Villa Nursing Home in Clyde, Kansas. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.  She is survived by two sons: Alan Ashland and wife Carolyn, Abilene, KS; Gary Ashland and wife Kathy, Concordia, KS; and daughter: Patricia Ashland, Concordia, KS; three sisters: Lorette Rogers, Salina, KS; Lorene Tremblay, Concordia, KS; Dorothy Tremblay, Concordia, KS; twelve grandchildren: Alison Mundi, Pinson, AL; Shanon Woolly, Wichita, KS; Sharon Knox, Clifton, KS; Tonya Ramsey, Wichita, KS;Tim Schutte, Ellsworth, KS; Steven Ashland, Abilene, KS; Stacy Stanford, Salina, KS; Jesse Morgan, Terri Ashland, Tim Ashland, Marco Ashland, and Indigo Ashland, all of Concordia, KS; 23 Great-Grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters: Juliette, Marceline, and Geneva; seven brothers: Raymond, Eldon, Alcid (Jack), Abner, Normand, Armand, Andrew.  Memorial services will be at 10:00AM Monday, November 5, 2007 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. Barry Brinkman oficiating.  Visitation will be Sunday, November 4, 2007 from 2 PM to 9 PM with an Altar Society Rosary at 5:00 PM Sunday and Vigil Service at 6:30 PM Sunday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.  Burial will be in St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia, KS.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Clyde Area Foundation in care of the funeral home.
