Arlene M. (McElhiney) Boutz, age 88, of Concordia, KS, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia, KS.  She was born on April 29, 1935, in Malvern, IA. To James Thomas & Ruth Catherine (Moore) McElhiney.

Arlene was a homemaker where she spent her time raising her children and taking care of all her family needs.

She enjoyed gardening, embroidery, traveling, country music and most of all spending time with her family and friends.

She married Leo Benjamin Boutz on March 24, 1981. He preceded her on February 11, 2009.

She is survived by her son, Roger (Debra) Huitt, daughter, Nancy French, son Earl (JoAnne) French, son, Thomas (Debra) French, her beloved grandchildren, April, Tabetha, Tommy, Jr. (Roxie), Rebecca, Jessica, Greg, Megan, and Rebecca (Nick).  She is also survived by her great-granddaughter, Samara Stuart, and twenty-four, great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; her parents, James and Ruth, son William Huitt and her three sisters.

Visitation will be held from 1-8 pm on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Celebrant Samantha Stensaas officiating and burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas.
