Barbara Mansfield, age 82, of Concordia, KS died on Wed., April 24, 2019 at Sunset Home Inc., Concordia, Kansas.

Barbara was born to Orville and Vera (Dyson) Crum on March 29, 1937 in Lyon Township near Glasco, Kansas. She was the oldest of 8 children.

Barbara attended schools in Republic County and Belleville High School. She worked as a Medication Aide at the Republic County Hospital Long Term Care for many years and later as a Kitchen Aide at the Nazareth Convent.

Barbara married James Sheridan on August 26, 1953. They farmed near Chester, Nebraska and later moved to Belleville. After his passing in 1978, she married Melvin Mansfield in 1980 and they made their home in Concordia.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin; her children, Beth Lewis, Brenda (Dane) Hanson & Brian (Teresa) Sheridan; stepchildren, Curtis (Tammy) Mansfield & Susan (Gary) Lindeen, 12 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brothers, Carlton, Galen, Ronald, Dennis, and Orvin Crum, and one sister, Paula Nutz & many family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert & son in-law Larry Lewis.

Visitation will be Mon., April 29, 2019 from 1-8 pm with a Vigil Service at 6 pm all at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia with the family greeting friends after the vigil service.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am, Tues., April 30, 2019 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Fr. David Metz officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.
