Bernice Pickerill was born on Dec. 25, 1911 in Dorrance, KS to Joseph & Jessie (Crabtree) Weber. She died on Monday, Dec. 5, 2011 at Park Villa Nursing Home, Clyde, KS at the age of 99. Bernice graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Salina. She married Ferris W. Pickerill in 1933. They moved to Clyde, KS in 1938. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde and was an avid card player in several bridge clubs. She is survived by her daughter: Sharon George & husband Jim, Clyde, KS; 6 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren & 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferris; parents; son, Jack Pickerill & sisters, Genevive McCance and June Donahoe. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde with Rev. Larry Letourneau officiating. Visitation will be from 12-8 PM Fri., Dec. 9, 2011 at Chaput Mortuary with family greeting friends from 7-8 PM. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Clyde. The family suggests memorials to the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Fund.
