Bertha M. Koch, age 87, passed away on Tues., Dec. 8, 2015 at Park Villa Nursing Home, Clyde, KS. She was born on June 5, 1928 in Miltonvale, KS to Arthur J. & Amanda M. (Charbonneau) Adam.
She attended country school Dist. #61 near Miltonvale. She married Anthony J. Koch on June 16, 1947 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Miltonvale. He preceded her on May 24, 2000. She was a lifelong homemaker and mother. Bertha was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters, Clyde. She was a Past President of the Clyde Chamber of Commerce, American Legion Aux., Clifton, Women of the Moose #1428 & a past president of the VFW Aux., Clyde. Bertha loved to garden and play cards, but her family was her biggest passion, always being a part of their lives and giving guidance and support.
She is survived by her daughters; Carolyn Danielson (Michael), Pueblo West, CO, Pat Olson (Fred), St. George & Lisa Brewer (Dave), Concordia; sons; Robert (Nadine), North Little Rock, AR, Michael (Joy), Liberty, MO, Mark (Leslie), Clifton, Jerry (Cathy) & Terry (Brenda), both of Clyde; sister, Dorothy Blackwood, Tonganoxie; brother, Junior Adam, Emporia; 18 grandchildren & 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony; parents; 1 grandson; 4 brothers; 2 sisters & a daughter in law.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Sat., Dec. 12, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. James Soosainathan & Rev. Joseph Kieffer officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Clyde. Viewing will be from 10 am to 5 pm with a Parish Rosary at 4 pm at Chaput Mortuary, Clyde followed by a vigil service at 7:00 pm at the church all on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Mt. Calvary Cemetery Fund or Park Villa Nursing Home in care of the funeral home. For online condolences, please visit www.chaputbuoy.com.
