Obituary

Betty L. Bombardier, age 84 of Concordia (formerly of Jamestown, KS), died Sat., Nov. 2, 2013 at Mitchell Co. Hospital, Beloit, KS. She was born on June 4, 1929 in Jetmore, KS to James Henry & Mamie (Wooley) Cross.

Betty graduated from high school in St. Francis, KS. She married Legouri A. Bombardier on Aug. 13, 1947 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia. He preceded her on Dec. 15, 2010. Betty was a bank clerk and teller for the Jamestown State Bank for 22 years until her retirement in 1992, she also worked at Murray's Grocery Store and kept books for the City of Jamestown. She was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Jamestown, a current member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and the Altar Society, Concordia and was an Associate with the Sisters of St. Joseph.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Trudy Collins & hus. Terry, Beloit & Michelle Dunn & hus. Mike, Chicago, IL; sons, Chris Bombardier & wife Joan, Paducah, KY, Tim Bombardier & wife Marsha, Concordia, Tom Bombardier & wife Martha, Salina & Nick Bombardier & wife Karen, Wichita; sister in law Ruth Bombardier, Concordia; 19 grandchildren & 20 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Legouri; a great granddaughter, Bliss Gravens; her parents; 2 brothers & 5 sisters.

It was Betty's wishes to be cremated and a Memorial Mass will be held at 2 pm, Tues., Nov. 5, 2013 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Rev. Brian Lager officiating. Burial of the cremains will follow the services at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Jamestown. Friends may sign the register book from 9 am to 9 pm, Mon., Nov. 4, 2013 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. A Rosary service will be at 7 pm, Mon., Nov. 4, 2013 at the Sisters of St. Joseph, Nazareth Motherhouse Chapel, Concordia. The family suggests memorials to the Sisters of St. Joseph, Neighbor to Neighbor in care of the funeral home.
