Elizabeth L. "Betty" Kuiken, 67 years of age, of Concordia, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Marquis Place of Concordia. She was born on June 28, 1944 in Concordia to Jerome and Alice (Streckfus) Stenberg. Betty graduated from Clyde High School in 1962. She attended Kansas State University for two years before attending and graduating with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Denver . She married Henry "Hank" Kuiken on April 18, 1984. Betty loved and practiced interior design.

Betty is survived by her brother, Jerry Stenberg and wife Laura Lee of Clyde; a step son, Greg Kuiken and wife Andrea of Blue Springs, MO; 2 step grandchildren; 3 nephews, Mark Stenberg and wife Marcie of Overland Park, Eric Stenberg of Clyde, Jason Stenberg and wife Alyssa of Shawnee; and eight great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband Hank.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 18, 2012 in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyde with Rev. Larry Letourneau officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Phillipsburg . Visitation will be held from 4 – 6 PM Sunday, June 17, 2012 in the Chaput Mortuary in Clyde with a vigil service at 6 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Clyde Historical Society in care of the funeral home.
