Betty Ann Myers, age 68, of Concordia, passed away Wed., Sept. 17, 2014 at Cloud County Health Center in Concordia. She was born on July 19, 1946 in Concordia, KS to William and Betty (Slater) Frybarger.
Betty attended Concordia Public Schools, graduating in 1964. She went on to become a Medical Aide and worked for the Sisters of St. Mary's then later at the Nazareth Convent in Concordia. She was the best mother any family could ask for. Betty was concerned about the well-being of her family and her friends. She married Jimmy Myers on March 7, 1975 in Concordia. Jim and Betty would help anybody in need. She enjoyed bingo, Nascar races, camping and fishing. Betty had two challenges with cancer in her life. She took on the battle against all odds and persevered. After retirement and the death of jimmy on February 7, 2002, she wished she could return to work. The elderly gave her purpose in life and a sparkle in her eye.
She is survived by her two sons, LaVerne, Jr. (Nancy) Parks, Hutchinson & Leroy (Peggy) Parks, Concordia; two daughters, Barbara (Byron) Barnhill & Beverly (Thomas) Dunn both of Concordia; three brothers, Robert (Juanita) Frybarger, Belleville, William (June) Frybarger, Concordia, & Donald (Lyndal) Frybarger, Belleville; sister, Bersita "Bert" (Raymond) Mendenhall, Concordia; step son, Brian Myers, FL; two step daughters, Cindy Myers, Shawnee Mission & Terrie Myers, Concordia; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren & a host of nieces, nephews & other relatives & friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jimmy Myers; sister, Claudia Dominguez & son, Leonard Parks.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm, Mon., Sept. 22, 2014 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel, Concordia with Rev. Dean Frazier officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Visitation will be from 12-8 pm with family greeting friends from 2-4 pm, Sun. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society or American Legion Auxiliary, Concordia, in care of the funeral home.
