Betty Stortz, age 78, passed away from this life on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Cheyenne Lodge Nursing Home, Jamestown, KS.  She was born Betty Lee Lewis in Scottsville, KS on December 21, 1929 to Jack and Lillian Thorp Lewis. She attended school in Scottsville and graduated from Concordia High School. She married Robert D. Stortz on July 30, 1947 in Lincoln, NE. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1998. She owned and operated Stortz Upholstery for 16 years. She was a member of American Legion and VFW Post Auxiliaries. She enjoyed camping and being camp hosts.  She is survived by Daughter: Brenda Davis & hus Ron, Glasco, KS; Son: Dave Stortz & wife Nancy, Smith Center, KS; Grandchild: Bob Mikesell & wife Kathy, Jamestown, KS; Grandchild: Bill Mikesell & wife Katie, Aurora, KS; Grandchild: Mary Tippie & hus John, Springfield, MO; Grandchild: Justin Stortz & wife Nell, McKinney, TX; Grandchild: Joby Stortz, Victoria, TX; Grandchild: Jamie Strumbaugh & hus Jake, McKinney, TX; Grandchild: Crockett Stortz, Concordia, KS; Grandchild: Mike Stortz & wife Tammi, Jamestown, KS; Grandchild: Adam Stortz, Beloit, KS; 7 Great Grandchildren: Sister: Mary Blochlinger, Concordia, KS; and Brothers: George Rugg, Jr., Jamestown, KS; and Sam Rugg, Waco, NE.  She was preceded in death by her husband, son- Richard, and her parents.  Services will be at 10:00AM Friday, March 14, 2008 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Rev. L. Dean Thompson officiating.  Visitation will be from 9AM to 9PM Thursday, March 13, 2008 with the family receiving friends from 6PM to 8PM.  Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, KS.  The famly suggests memorials to Cheyenne Lodge Nursing Home.
