Billy "B.J." Michel, age 79 of Jamestown, KS, passed from his earthly life on Tues., April 26, 2016 at the Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS. He was born on June 28, 1936 in Branson, MO to Charlie H. & Jewell A. (Moore) Michel.

He graduated from Branson High School in 1954 and received an A.A. in Building Inspection from San Marcos, CA. BJ served in the US Navy for several different tours from 1954 to 1974. He married Mary Nelson on Sept. 18, 1960 in Jamestown, KS. BJ worked in construction, electrical work and a host of different trades throughout his life. His passion was serving his country in the Navy, his family, grandkids & his love of anything that had wheels that he could fix and drive. He lived for car shows in the summertime and he was always tinkering in one of his 4 garages or his garden. He was a member of the Jamestown United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; Jamestown; son, Mike Michel (Lynn), Jamestown; daughters, Marcie Nelson, Jamestown & Lori Smock (Doug), Rockaway Beach, MO; brother, Richard Michel, Halltown, MO; sisters, Liz Howe (Don), Branson, MO & Judy Carley (Dale), Nixa, MO; 5 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister in law, Arvilla Michel & granddaughter, Rhionna Marie Nelson.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Jamestown United Methodist Church, Jamestown with Pastor Randy Whitley officiating with burial following at the Danish Lutheran Cemetery, Rural Jamestown and Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #76, VFW Post #588 & the U.S. Navy.  Visitation will be from 12-9 pm with the family greeting friends from 7-8 pm on Thurs., April 28, 2016 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.  The family suggests memorials to the Jamestown United Methodist Church Roof Fund in care of the funeral home.
