Billy Joe "Tex" Read, age 69, died Mon., Jan. 28, 2013 at Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia. Billy was born on March 22, 1943 in Decatur, TX to Earnest & Lois (Hudson) Read. Billy grew up in Texas. He married Charlotte Regnier on Feb. 2, 1966 in Concordia. Billy was a truck driver for Boogaarts, Crete Trucking and then worked at the Toy Factory before driving for Koch Excavating. Billy is survived by his wife, Charlotte, Concordia; daughter, Christina Read, Concordia & son, Todd Read (Sharon), Lafayette, LA; half brother, Ernie Read, Jacksboro, TX; grandchildren, Grant, Stephanie & Brady Read & great granddaughter, Kylee Hillman. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, step grandson, Stephan & half brother, David. Memorial services will be held at 2 pm, Thurs., Jan. 31, 2013 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. The family selected cremation and friends may sign the register book from 9 am to 9 pm, Wed. and the family will greet friends from 6:30 to 7:30 pm all at the funeral home. Private burial will be at a later date. The family suggests memorials to the Billy Read Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
