Carolyn L. Kindel, age 60 , died Sat., Oct. 20, 2012 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, KS.  She was born in Concordia, KS on Oct. 10, 1952, to John F., Sr. & Velda (Geisler) May.  She graduated from Concordia High School and then Ft. Hays State with an associate's degree in Radiology Tech.  Carolyn worked for Hays Medical Center as the manager of the central supply until becoming disabled.  She continued volunteering in various capacities at the hospital and community after her becoming disabled.  Carolyn was a member of Healing Hearts for Bereaved Parents and began the local chapter in Hays.  She is survived by her sons, John Kindel (Joy), Olathe & Jeremy Kindel(Kellie), Pittsfield, MA; sisters, Kathy Kindel (Eugene), Aurora & Angie Rader (James), Killeen, TX; brothers, John May, Jr, Concordia, David May, Salina, Jerry May (Lavonne), Concordia & Jeff May (Chris) Salina; grandchildren, Daniel & Meghan Kindel, Emily Smith (Kirby) & Sara Schmidt & great grandchildren, Ava & Hadley Smith.  She was preceded in death by her sons, Donnie, Jr & Joshua & her parents.  Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Tues, Oct 23 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Private burial will be a later time.  Visitation will be from 2 to 9 pm with family greeting friends from 7-8 pm, Mon. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Carolyn Kindel Memorial in care of the funeral home.
