Catherine Cyphers was born September 14, 1907, to Patrick Henry and Anna Lynch Sullivan, in Meredith Township- Aurora, Kansas. She passed from this life on Thursday, Januray, 3, 2008 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS at the age of 100. She attended Cottonwood School house and Normal Business College. She married Clifford "Kipp" Cyphers on May 6, 1937 in Concordia, KS. She enjoyed her family and friends. She retired from South Western Bell Telephone Company. Her interests included sewing, cooking, world traveling, and cards. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Altar Society, Telephone Pioneers, CWA- Communications Workers of America, and the America Legion Post #76 Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughters: Retta Waite and Mary Louise Hydorn, both of Concordia, Kansas; her sons: Bill Cyphers and wife Janis; James Cyphers and wife Anita; Tom Cyphers and wife Betty, all of Concordia, Kansas; 12 grandchildren: Mike Hydorn and wife Lisa, Eagle Point, Oregon; Mary Dibbell, Jamestown, Kansas; Willam L. Cyphers and wife Angie, Clifton, Kansas, Pamela Tremblay, Concordia, Kansas, Jody Cyphers, Blue Springs, Missouri, Judy Boutz and husband Fred, Olathe, Kansas, Maria Marcotte and husband Gerald, Salina, Kansas, Shawn Cyphers and fiance Vicki Walters, Jamestown, Kansas, Christopher Cyphers and wife Kay, Concordia, Kansas, Brooke Bryson and husband Greg, Atchison, Kansas, Jordan Cyphers and Heath Waite, of Concordia, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford in 1984, parents, Granddaughter- Gina Cyphers, infant brother- James Sullivan, two sons-in-law- Raymond Waite and Robert Hydorn. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, Kansas with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 9 PM Monday, January 7, 2008 with Altar Society Rosary at 5:00 PM and a Vigil Service at 6:30 PM at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas. The family suggests memorials be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
