Catherine Glassburner, of Republic, MO, passed away on September 12, 2026, at the age of 69. She was born on February 16, 1957, in Concordia, KS, to William and Eletha (Huffman) Gillard.

Cathi was blessed with three sons, William “Danny”, James and David M. In 1992 she married David Glassburner. Cathi was a very artistic person, crocheting, sewing and scrapbooking were many of the hobbies that she enjoyed. She also had an amazing singing voice and was a part of the Springfield Public Choir through MSU for many seasons. Cathi worked in the accounting department at Modern Exteriors for many years, as well as a manager at Casey’s in Springfield. She was a lover of Fantasy and Sci-Fi Novels and passed that love onto her children.

She is survived by her husband, David Glassburner, sons William “David” Gilliland, James Glassburner and David M. Glassburner, grandson Kie Allen Gilliland, her stepfather who raised her like his own, William Trower, siblings Daniel, Steph, Vanessa, Tammy and Heidi, as well as other extended family and friends.

A Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 12-2 p.m. at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic. A Graveside service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 11am at Pleasant Hill Cemetery (444 East 18th St, Concordia, KS). Services in Missouri are under the direction of Meadors Funeral Home and services in Kansas will be under the direction of Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
