Catherine A. Lowers, age 80, entered into rest on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Cloud County Health Center, Concordia.  She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on Feb. 13, 1941 to Peter W. and Clara A. (Klozenbucher) Mentgen.

Catherine was a lifelong Cloud County area resident.  She was 1959 graduate of Notre Dame Catholic High School in Concordia, Kansas.

On August 13, 1960 she married Charles Lowers in Concordia, Kansas.  To this union two children were born Diana and Michael.

Catherine was a preschool teacher at the Presbyterian Church for five years.  She also worked at OCCK as a Adult Trainer until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling and most of all spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a proud member of the Concordia Senior Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Diana Marcotte (Craig), Beloit, KS.; a son, Michael Lowers, Shawnee, KS.; five grandchildren, Amy Dannenberg (Casey), and their children, Bowen and Haddie Mae all of Concordia, KS.; Nick Marcotte (friend Tracy Fuller), Beloit, KS.; Zach Lowers (friend, Jenae Chegwidden), Gypsum, KS; Devon Lowers (Mackynzie), Salina, KS; Maisy Lowers, Hutchinson, KS.  Special friends, Marge Nicholson and Judy Johannsen, both of Concordia, KS.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie and parents, Peter and Clara Mentgen.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 20, 2022 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, with Fr. David Metz officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.  A luncheon will follow at the American Legion in Concordia.
