Chad McDaniel was born on Sept. 10, 1974 in Belleville, KS to Eugene McDaniel & Dianna Brake. He passed from this life on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 34. Chad graduated from Concordia High School & later SE Community College in Milford, NE in auto body repair. He worked at Babe-Houser Motor Company before starting his own auto body repair shop. Chad owned & operated Chado's Auto Body & Glass in Concordia, KS for the last 11 years. He married Trisha Wurtz on Oct. 16, 2004 in Clyde, KS. Chad was passionate about race car driving, beginning with the 750 Sprint Car, Jayhusker Racing series and then into the Midget car class since 2004. Chad accomplished his dream to race in Belleville at the High Banks at the Midget Nationals alongside his dream to own his own business. Chad was a member of the Concordia Optimist's Club and a proud supporter of Concordia High School and all local groups and organizations. When Chad was in high school, he assisted and volunteered his time to Kansas Special Olympics with his brother Jeff. Chad didn't know a stranger, everywhere he went, he always knew someone & was willing to help those who needed a hand. Chad is survived by his wife, Trish McDaniel, Concordia, KS; a son, Trevor McDaniel, Concordia, KS; a daughter, Taylor McDaniel, Concordia, KS; his father, Eugene McDaniel & wife Gayle, Concordia, KS; his mother, Dianna McDaniel & Ron Powers, Concordia, KS; brothers, Eric McDaniel & wife Kristi, Concordia, KS, Jeff McDaniel, Concordia, KS & Ryan McDaniel, Concordia, KS; grandmother, Irene Muller, Minneapolis, KS; step sisters, Traci Moe & husband Doug, Newton, KS, Teri Wurtz & husband Keenan, Clyde, KS & Tricia Hayne & husband T.J., Concordia, KS; brothers in law, Ryan Wurtz & wife Shannon, Linn, KS & Travis Wurtz & wife Monica, Clyde, KS; sister in law, Lisa Ouellette & husband Chuck, Washington, KS; parents in law, Arlis & JoAnne Wurtz, Clifton, KS; nieces & nephews: Ericka, Andrea, Korin & Madison McDaniel, Concordia, KS; Chole McDaniel, Concordia, KS; Alyssa, Evan & Kirsten Ouellette, Washington, KS & Wyatt & Morgan Wurtz, Linn, KS. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom & Marvel McDaniel & Art Muller. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 4, 2009 at The Brown Grand Theater, Concordia, KS with Rev. Larry Letourneau officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM with the family receiving friends from 6-8 PM, Wed., June 3, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services for the family at Rice Cemetery, Rice, KS.
