Charles E. Burch was born on Oct. 7, 1929 at Rice, Kansas to Charles A. and Lena Viola Pick Burch. He passed from this life on May 22, 2007 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, Kansas at the age of 77. He attended Rice Grade schools and graduated from Concordia High School. He enlisted in the Army Air Force on May 21, 1947 and was discharged on May 23, 1953. He was employed by Cloud Ceramics, Boogaarts Supply, U.S. Postal Service, Concordia Fire Dept. and St. Joseph Hospital. He was a member of the First Christian Church, VFW Post # 788, American Legion Post # 76, a Hunter Safety Instructor from 1973 to 2003 and an Area Coordinator for Hunter Safety. He married Georgia Walden on Feb. 1, 1952 in Concordia, Kansas. He is survived by his wife, Georgia of the home, sons, Doug Burch of Salina, Kansas, Ron Burch and Jeanine Lovick of Chatteroy, Washington and David Burch and wife DeLaine of Clay Center, Kansas, daughter, Char Dooley and Hus. Jim of Concordia, Kansas, grandchildren, Brandon, Ashton, Dustin and Abby Dooley of Concordia, Kansas, Kyle Burch of Salina, Kansas, Sheldon, Spencer, Jaylon, Jenner and Kinley Burch all of Clay Center, Kansas and Kelley Burch of Salina, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 25, 2007 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Burns, officiating. Friends may call and sign the register book from 12 PM to 9 PM, Thursday, May 24, 2007 where the family will greet friends from 5-7 PM Thursday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia with Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post # 76 and VFW Post #588. The family suggests memorials to Club 81, Concordia.
