Obituary

Charles Stephen "Steve" Pinnell, age 85, entered into rest on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Hilltop Lodge Health and Rehabilitation, Beloit, Kansas.   He was born on July 10, 1939, in Wichita, Kansas to Willis Mac Pinnell and Josephine Eileen (Stephens) Pinnell.

Steve was a 1960 graduate of Fall River High School, Fall River, Kansas.

On August 2, 1968, Steve was united in marriage to Maxine F. Dean in Miami, Oklahoma.

He was a member of the Cornerstone Christian Church in Fredonia, Kansas and the Clyde VFW Post #7515 men's auxiliary, Clyde, Kansas.

Steve was an over the road truck driver for 47 years for several different companies throughout his career.

His hobbies included mowing, tinkering, auctions, yard sales and most of all going to family reunions.

Survived by his wife, Maxine Faye Pinnell, Glasco, KS; son, Cory Pinnell (Camille), Glasco, KS; daughter, Dawn Story (Pat), Johnson City, TN; a son, Steven Hanes Pinnell(Jennifer), Unicoi, TN; a Step-son, Jeff Berkenmeier (Pauline), Ozawkie, KS; two step-daughters, Jane Ann Berkenmeier, Blue Eye, MO; Julie Berkenmeier, Kilgore, TX; sister Mary Marsha Ivey Fredonia, KS, sister Connie Ruth Walker (Leon)Yates Center, KS, half-sister Rainie Ann Steedley (Jimmy) Okatie, SC, step-sisters Daisy Godbee Guyton, GA, Nadine Grayson Okatie, SC, Patricia Gail Preset Fredonia, KS.

Eleven Grandchildren and Thirty great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and host of friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Josephine, step-father Ben Bennett, sister Billie Jo Ivey and step-sister Rita Joyce Beal.

A family gathering and luncheon at noon will be provided by the Cornerstone Christian Church in Fredonia prior to the service.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Cornerstone Christian Church in Fredonia, Kansas with Pastor Jeff Baker officiating.

Private family burial of the cremated remains will take place at a later time at the Coyville Cemetery, Coyville, Kansas.
