Clarabel M. Barton, age 93, passed away from this life on August 29, 2007 at Beloit Long Term Care.   She was born July 20, 1914 in Clifton, Kansas, to Morris and Enola Kinkead Rogers. She attended grade school in Ames, KS and graduated from Clyde High School in Clyde, KS. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Clyde, and taught Sunday School for many years. She was also president of the Church Ladies group ABW for 20 years. She was united in marriage to Gordon Lundeen on November 28, 1933, he preceded her in death in 1983. To this union was born Richard Gordon and Roger Dale who both passed during childbirth. God blessed them with the adoption of two children, Michael Gordon and Judy Ann. The early years of marriage were spent farming with Gordon. They later moved to Clifton in 1955 because of Gordon's health. The next several years she worked as a cook in local cafes in Clifton. She worked at Estelles Care home in Clifton for 25 years, becoming the administrator for the last six years of her service. She also served as administrator at Park Villa Nursing Home in Clyde for one year. Her hobbies and enjoyment time was making quilts, sewing, baking, learning to crochet, and learning to swim at age 62. For many years she sang in a trio with her sister Lillian Lovendahl, and a friend Alda Lovendahl. She retired in 1966 living in Clifton. In 1985 she married a longtime friend Reeze Barton, they made their home in Topeka, KS. He preceded her in death in 1987 and Clarabel returned to Clifton where she lived in the Westview Apartments. She continued to live there until she suffered a stroke in 2001. At that time she was moved to the long term care unit of the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, KS. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend to many who knew her, and will sadly be missed by all.  She is survived by her daughter, Judy Pohlman and husband Gary, of Beloit, Kansas; a son, Michael Lundeen and wife Joyce, of Ft. Scott, Kansas; a step-son, Ron Barton, of South Carolina; two step-daughters: Ramona Standley of Belleville, KS; and Eileen Kralovetz, of Mission Texas; Several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and host of friends.  She was preceded in death by her Husbands- Gordon Lundeen, and Reeze Barton, three brothers, one sister, and her parents. Services will be 10:00AM Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at Chaput Mortuary with the Rev. Fred Applegarth officiating. Visitation will be from 2PM to 8PM Monday at Chaput Mortuary with the family receiving friends from 6PM to 8PM.  Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Clyde, Kansas.  Memorials can be made to Clyde Christian Church or Clifton Community Care Center.
