Clayton D. Peterson was born on Oct. 12, 1910 in Blue Rapids, KS to Martin T. & Florence (Parsons) Peterson.  He died on Fri, June 22, 2012 at Park Villa Nursing Home, Clyde, KS at the age of 101.  Clayton graduated from Clyde High School in 1928.  He served in the US Navy 93rd Seabees during WWII.  He married Agnes "Irene" Hiltgen on Feb. 12, 1943 in Greenleaf, KS.  She preceded him on April 24, 1992.  Clayton was the owner & operator of Peterson Plumbing in Clyde.  He was a lifetime member of VFW Post #7515 & American Legion Post #227.  He also was a founding contributor of the Clyde Golf Course and was granted a lifetime membership.  Clayton was an avid golfer and spent most of his time after retirement, playing golf.  He is survived by his daughters, Susan Hubert (Leo), Concordia & Colleen Plowman, Arnold, MO; sons, Patrick, Clyde & Rev. Michael, Leawood; grandchildren, Mark Hubert (Cathy), Baldwin, MO, Luke Hubert (Michelle), Belleville & Ann Collette (Jared) Andover & 6 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes, parents, grandsons, John C. Hubert & Benjamin Plowman, 2 sisters & 2 brothers.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Tues, June 26, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Peterson & Rev. Larry Letourneau officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Clyde with Military Honors conducted by VFW Post #7515 & American Legion Post #227.  Visitation will be from 12-8 PM, Mon. with a scripture service at 7 pm at Chaput Mortuary. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Park Villa Nursing Home or Clyde Volunteer Fire Dept. in care of the funeral home.
