Cleo Gail Barton, 83 years of age, of Jamestown , passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 at Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit . He was born on December 3, 2012 on a farm south of Tabor to Frank and Tillie (Bednar) Barton. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951 – 1953 and received an honorable discharge and awarded several medals including the Purple Heart. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and D.A.V. He was a long time Barber in Jamestown . Cleo and Irene (Schmitt) Barton were married on January 12 ^th , 1957 in Tipton.

Cleo is survived by his wife, Irene; 6 children, Annette (Dennis) Boddy of Manhattan, Nelson Barton of Manhattan, Marietta (Dave) Wilson of La Crosse, Roger (Mary Jane) Barton of Valley Center, Patty (Kurt) Zimmer of Jamestown, Curt (Kathi) Barton of Salina; 16 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Dwann; parents; brother Alvin; and a sister Lillian Hanel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Concordia with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Jamestown with Military Rites by the American Legion Post #76 and VFW Post #588. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 2 PM Monday, December 24, 2012 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia.
