Cynthia Louise Appleby was born on Nov. 8, 1959 in Concordia, KS to Esthyle & Dollie (Kearn) Appleby. She passed from this life on Monday, March 29, 2010 at St. Francis Via Christi, Wichita, KS at the age of 50. Cindy graduated from Clyde High School in 1977. She loved all animals, but horses were her special passion and she loved to ride when she was younger. She also enjoyed to sew and do other crafts. Cindy was involved with helping people and had employment as a CNA or personal attendant to disabled people for most of her working career. She is survived by her sons: Jackie Dyke, Wichita, KS & Michael Dyke, Topeka, KS; daughters: Amber Alvarez & husband Cole, Salina, KS & ShaTaunya Elder, Salina, KS; 5 grandchildren; sister: Marsha Smith, Glasco, KS; brother: Delmer Appleby; foster brothers: Gary Appleby, Concordia, KS & Gail Appleby, Salina, KS & several nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; foster parents; foster sister, Barbara Fraser & foster brothers Lee Edwardy & Terry Appleby. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Concordia Wesleyan Church, Concordia. The family chose cremation and there is no visitation. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Donor's Choice.
