Dale D. Cool, 95 years of age, of Concordia, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Sunset Nursing Center in Concordia. He was born to Harrison and Edna (Green) Cool on December 5, 1916 at rural Concordia. Dale graduated in 1934 from Concordia High School where he and his wife were both members of National Honor Society. He graduated in the first class to attend all four years at the "new" high school building which has been there 80 years now. Dale married Mary Jane Whitebread in the Trinity United Methodist Church Parsonage on March 26, 1944. He farmed in Sibley Township from boyhood on and was a Mason for more than 65 years. Dale and Mary loved their travels and retirement.

Dale is survived by 2 nephews, Gary Cool and wife Donna of Tyler, Texas, Richard Kimmal and wife Ella Mae of Wamego; a niece, Janet Hill and husband Jim of Lakewood, Colorado; several great nieces and nephews; and many friends and special neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary Jane on July 16, 2003; and a brother Melvin.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, December 19, 2011 in the Trinity United Methodist Church in Concordia with Pastor L. Dean Thompson officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia. Visitation will be held from 1 – 8 PM Sunday, December 18, 2011 with family greeting friends from 6 – 7 PM in the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Sunset Nursing Center, Trinity United Methodist Church, or the Donor's Choice.
