Darlene Ellison, age 89, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at the Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia, Kansas.  She was born on September 18, 1930 in Cloud County, Kansas to Claude and Laura (Bond) Schneider.

She married Raymond D. Ellison on May 29, 1955 in Concordia, Kansas. He preceded her in death on April 20, 1993.

Darlene worked in the housekeeping department at the Medical Lodge Nursing Home, Jamestown, Kansas, for several years.

She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, reading mystery novels, yard work, and mostly cooking for her family.

Darlene was a past member of the V.F.W. and Eagles Lodge of Great Bend, Kansas.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Rea, Galena, KS; Darrell Ellison (Rachele), Derby, KS; David Ellison, Concordia, KS; Larry Ellison, Concordia, KS; Eugene Ellison (Jessica), Winfield, KS; Richard Ross (Linda), Summers, AR; 13 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, son, Dale Ross, parents, Claude and Laura, 5 sisters, Katie Kagle, Frances Richard, Verna Hunt, Betty James, Irene Snyder,  6 brothers, Robert, Bernard, Howard, Donald, Duane and Marvin Snyder & grandson, Scotty Rea.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 19, 2021 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, with Pastor Rick Barrett officiating.   Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 1-8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.

Inurnment will follow in the Jamestown Cemetery, Jamestown, Kansas.
