Darrell E. Lambert, 76 years of age, of Concordia, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka. He was born on July 22, 1935 in Clyde to Leo and Mary (Couture) Lambert. Darrell was a 1953 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Concordia. He served his country as a Clerk General with the United States Army from March 18, 1958 to March 17, 1960. He married Judy Brotherton on June 19, 1982 in Clay Center. Darrell was a member of the Concordia Episcopal Church, Optimist International, Elks Club, and Moose Lodge. Darrell enjoyed playing golf, playing cards, and especially spending his free time with his grandkids and his dog "Spike".

Darrell is survived by his wife, Judy; 3 daughters, Shelly Stratton and husband Dr. Michael of Orange Park, Florida, Kellie Feistner and husband Pastor Ethan of Smolan, Kathy Lambert of Grand Prairie, Texas; 2 sons, Sheldon "Chug" Horsfall and wife Kirsten of Platte City, Missouri, Martin "Poke" Horsfall and wife Nicole of McKinney, Texas; 4 grandchildren, Mitchell Stratton, Michaela Stratton, Alex Feistner, Alex James Horsfall; a brother, George Lambert and wife Charlotte of Manhattan; 2 sisters in law, Bernadette Lambert of Concordia, Mary LeDuc of Clyde; and in Darrell's words, "a ton of nieces and nephews". He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Raymond, Francis, Flavis, Isodore; and a sister, Margaret Koch.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, May 11, 2012 in the Concordia Episcopal Church with Rev. David Strommen and Pastor Ethan Feistner officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia with Military Rites by Ft. Riley personnel. Visitation will be held from noon to 9 PM Thursday, May 10, 2012 with family greeting friends from 7 – 8 PM in the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the church, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, and Optimist International.
