Deidra K. Blackwell, age 66, died, Fri., June 7, 2013 at Via Christi Village, Hays, KS after a long illness. She was born on Sept. 16, 1946 in Concordia, KS to Charles E. & Tyra (Lahodny) Herink.

She grew up in Clyde, KS and graduated from Clyde High School in 1966. She married Carroll Blackwell on July 27, 1963.

She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Wildeman & hus. Terry, Lawrence & Heather Blackwell, Sacramento, CA; 3 grandchildren, Morgan, Ashley & Garrett Wildeman, Lawrence; brother, Jim Herink & wife Janice, Manhattan, nieces & nephews, Cheryl Williamsen & hus. Paul and their son, Michael, all of Rossmoor, CA & Scott Herink & wife Chris, Topeka & their daughters, Katharina & Anna. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Tues., June 25 ^th , 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde with Rev. Larry Letourneau officiating. Burial of the cremains will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Clyde following the services. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the church. The family suggests memorials to the family's choice to be designated later in care of the funeral home.
