Della Mae Barleen was born March 8, 1921 in Norway, Kansas to Clarence and Lula Belle Figgins Greer.  She passed away from this life on January 18, 2007 at Republic County Hospital at the age of 86. She graduated from Norway High School.  She was baptised in the EUB Church in Norway, KS.  She married Thomas "Tom" Barleen on April 5, 1941 at Concordia, KS.  She was a homemaker.  She owned a ceramics shop in Concordia, KS.  She loved plants, gambling, and bingo.  She was a charter member of the Moose Post #1428.  She is survived by her children: Peggy Powell and husband Bill, Concordia, Kansas; Carol Lingo, Concordia, Kansas; Martha Eakins and husband Art, Concordia, Kansas; Meredith Bechard and husband Dale, Dodge City, Kansas; Owen Barleen and wife Debi, Concordia, Kansas; and Loyal Barleen and Significant Other Stormy Pearce, Fairbury, NE; her grandchildren: Jeff Eakins; Chrystal Westgate; Jason Liby; Jamie Kegle; Travis Barleen; Toby Barleen; Torry Barleen; Nicci Bergeson; Jeanette Ouellette; Nicole Begnoche; Coleen Villa; Brad Powell; Anita Strommen; Thomas Edward Barleen II; Blaze Quinton Barleen; Kyle Schuckman; Cory Schuckman; 20 Great Grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband- Thomas "Tom", Sons-in-law: Larry Lingo, Jim Liby, and a great grandchild.  Services will be at 2:00PM Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Concordia Lutheran Church with Rev. Anita Strommen officiating.  Visitation will be from 9 AM to 9 PM Monday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6 PM to 8 PM.  Burial will be in Norway Cemetery, Norway, Kansas.  Family suggests memorials be made to Concordia Lutheran Church.
