Obituary

Delmer S. Thoman, Sr., 87 years of age, of Concordia, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Sunset Nursing Home in Concordia. He was born to Carl and Josephine (Tholstrup) Thoman on February 1, 1924 in Concordia. Delmer graduated from Salina High School in 1941. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Delmer married Ginny Ray in November of 1946 in Mankato . He owned and operated Carl Thoman and Son Water Well Drilling.

Delmer is survived by 4 sons, Delmer Jr. and wife Judy of Manhattan, Kent of Atlanta, GA, Chris and wife Carla of Concordia, Jack and wife Janice of Denver, CO; 10 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; and a sister, Bernita Perry of Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife Ginny on March 8, 2008.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 27, 2011 in the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia with Pastor Denise Group officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion Post #76 and VFW Post #588. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM Friday, August 26, 2011 with family greeting friends from 7 – 8 PM in the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Memorials may be left to the First Presbyterian Church in Concordia in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be left online at www.chaputbuoy.com .
