Dewey G Nelson, 74, Concordia, Kansas, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Advena Living of Clay Center. He was born on June 10, 1949 to Durrel and Velma (French) Nelson in Belleville, Kansas.

He attended Concordia Schools and graduated in 1968. He went on to work for ABB and Cloud Ceramics.

Dewey married Kathy Bible in 1970 in Golden, Colorado.

Dewey could do just about anything he was asked. Kathy might ask him to build or fix something and he would disappear to his shop and reappear with something that would work perfectly. He loved working on cars and boats.

His beloved Lhasa Apso, Charlie Brown passed away in 2023 but before that they could be seen on drives around town or at their daily trip to the dog park.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Durrel and Velma Nelson.

He will be missed by his wife Kathy Nelson of Concordia, KS; his brother, Raymond Nelson (Donna) of Concordia, KS; nephews, Tony Nelson (Jasmine) of Olathe, KS, and Chris Nelson (Faye) of Hooper, NE; and six great nieces.

A memorial service will be held at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home on Monday, June 3rd, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor David Redmond officiating. Family will greet friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, rural Concordia.
