Donald H. Kaufmann, 94 years of age, of Concordia, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Cloud County Health Center in Concordia. He was born on April 2, 1918 in Haven, Kansas to Albert and Martha (Kasper) Kaufmann. Don was a 1936 graduate from La Crosse High School, earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Fort Hays State College, and received his Masters of Science Degree from Kansas State University. He married Willomae Lagasse on May 17, 1942 in Concordia. Don served his country overseas in the United States Army during WWII from May 27, 1942 to November 5, 1945. He was a longtime educator at many schools in Kansas including Concordia, Clyde, Holyrood, and Wilson. Don was a member of the Clyde Christian Church, Cloud County Historical Society, Concordia Masonic Lodge, Lions Club International, and Kiwanis International.

Don is survived by 2 daughters, Priscilla Ann Lindsey and husband Steve, Donna Mae Barleen and husband Arnold, both of Concordia; a son, Allyn David Kaufmann and wife Lori of Concordia; 8 grandchildren, Dustin Jackson and wife Robyn, Jared Jackson and wife Kristen, Doug Barleen and wife Heather, Jennifer Barleen, Aaron Kaufmann, Allyssa Kaufmann, Alex Kaufmann, Austin Kaufmann; 7 great-grandchildren, Sean, Rachel, and Amanda Barleen, Bailey and Henry Jackson, Max and Grace Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Willomae on June 26, 2005.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia with Rev. Fred Applegarth officiating. Interment will be in the Rice Cemetery at Rice with Military Rites. Visitation will be held from noon to 9 PM Tuesday, May 8, 2012 with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 PM in the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia. Memorials are suggested to the Clyde Christian Church or family's choice in care of the funeral home.
