Over the years, she also served in the tag office at the courthouse, worked at Potts Funeral Home in Independence, and, after moving to Abilene, was secretary at Frontier Estates and St. Andrews Church. She also generously volunteered at the hospital gift shop. Doris was a member of the Daughters of Isabella.
