Dorothy M. Bowersox, age 91, died Wed., Nov. 29, 2017 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS.  She was born on Sept. 22, 1926 in Belleville, KS to William & Clara (Luis) Roberts.

She graduated from Belleville High School and received her BSN at Marymount College.  Dorothy married Melvin L. Bowersox on May 19, 1949 in Belleville, KS.  He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2001.  They lived in Concordia, Mankato, Manhattan & Belleville while Melvin worked for Southwestern Bell.  Dorothy was an RN, working at various nursing homes and hospitals.  She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.  Dorothy enjoyed sewing all her life and volunteered her talents at Neighbor to Neighbor where she sewed over 200 dresses for missionary work.

She is survived by her sons, Dan (Tammy), Topeka & Mark (Dixie), Maricopa, AZ;  daughter, Juli Anderson (Larry),  Olathe, CO; sisters, Sr. Mary Lou Roberts, Salina & Pat Kopsa (Jerry), Belleville, 4 grandchildren &  5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; son, Neil; three daughters, Marilyn Jane, Mary and Theresa; granddaughter, Janel Wright & sisters, Wanda, Loretta & Marilyn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Mon., Dec. 4, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Fr. David Metz officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Concordia Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sun., Dec. 3, 2017 from 12-8 pm with a Rosary at 6 pm all at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Sisters of St. Joseph in care of the funeral home.  For online condolences, please visit www.chaputbuoy.com.
