Dorothy H. Johnson, age 94, died Wed., May 13, 2015 at Mt. Joseph Senior Village, Concordia. She was born on Sept. 1, 1920 in Kansas City, MO to Fred W. & Edna (Mayhall) Sylvester.

She graduated from the University of Kansas with an M.A. in English. She was a public school educator. She married Richard Johnson on Dec. 20, 1941 in Sedalia, MO and he preceded her on Aug. 16, 2005.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Underwood (Brannon), Orangeburg, SC & Elizabeth Weddle, CSJ, Concordia; 3 grandchildren & nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard and her parents.

The family selected cremation and will hold a joint service with Sr. Francis Alma Royer at 10:30 AM, Sat., May 16, 2015 at the Nazareth Motherhouse Chapel. A Bible vigil service will be at 7 PM, Fri., May 15, 2015 at the Nazareth Motherhouse Chapel. The family suggests memorials to Meadowlark Hospice or the Sisters of St. Joseph of Concordia's St. Joseph Ministry Fund in care of the funeral home.
