Dorothy M. Neander, 93 years of age, of Concordia, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Sunset Nursing Home. She was born on September 1, 1917 in Concordia to Emil and Emma (Mellin) Neander. Dorothy graduated from Concordia High School in 1935. She was a graduate of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester , Minnesota . Dorothy worked many years as a Nurse Anesthetist at the Mayo Clinic and also at Wesley Hospital in Wichita .

Dorothy is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 sisters, Neva Molter, Evelyn Coad, Edith Goulder, Genevieve Neander, and Signa Neander; and a brother, Emil Neander, Jr.

A Graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, April 22, 2011 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia with Pastor Bob Burns officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 – 1 PM Friday, April 22, 2011 at Chaput – Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia. Memorials may be left to Sunset Nursing Home with the funeral home in charge.
