Douglas B. Clemons was born on January 12, 1942 in Concordia, KS to Byron & Catharine Lucille Collins Clemons. He died Monday, March 19, 2007 in Rural Jamestown, KS. Doug graduated from Jamestown High School and then attended U.S. Trade School in Kansas City. He was a lifelong Jamestown area resident. He was a farmer, commercial truck driver and recently retired from the Jamestown Fertilizer Plant in Jamestown. He was a social member of American Legion Post #76 in Concordia. He is survived by 2 sons; Brian Clemons & wife Mary Anna of Colorado Springs, CO and Kurt Clemons & wife Iris of Richmond, IL; 2 daughters; Kim Clemons of Tacoma, WA and Cherie Clemons of Billing, OK; his mother Lucille Clemons of Beloit, KS; a brother; Dave Clemons & wife Glenda of Concordia, KS; a sister; Linda Clemons of Burleson, TX and 6 grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 23, 2007 in the Jamestown Cemetery, Jamestown, KS with Rev. Dean R. Frazier officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 9 AM to 9 PM, Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia where the family will be receiving friends from 7-8 PM. The family suggests memorials to the Doug Clemons Memorial Fund.
