Edna Mae (Cote) Michaud, 87 years of age, of Clyde, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014 at Mount Joseph Senior Village in Concordia. She was born on April 16, 1926 in Aurora to Frank and Melvina (Collette) Cote. Edna Mae married Wilcid E. Michaud on February 22, 1944 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Aurora. She was a lifelong resident of the St. Joseph and Clyde areas until moving to Mount Joseph Senior Village in Concordia 5 years ago. Edna Mae was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, and caring for her family. She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joseph and a current member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyde where she was an active member of CCW.
Edna is survived by 6 sons, Patrick and wife Sheryl of Topeka, Bernard and wife Kathy of Wamego, Dean and wife Carol of Clyde, Leland and wife Mona of Clay Center, Alan and wife Cindy of Salina, Joey and wife Beth of St. Louis, Missouri; 2 daughters, Judy Baxa and husband Mike of Belleville, Lori Fagan and husband Greg of Topeka; 19 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mable Bouley of Iowa, Grace Morris of Farmington, New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wilcid E. Michaud on July 6, 2009; son, Michael; granddaughter, Jami Michaud; grandson-in-law, John Waterbury; and 4 sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 20, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyde with Rev. Larry Letourneau and Rev. Brian Lager officiating. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in St. Joseph. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 PM Wednesday, March 19, 2014 with a vigil service and rosary at 7 PM at Chaput Mortuary in Clyde. Memorials are suggested to Meadowlark Hospice or St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in care of the mortuary. Chaput Mortuary in Clyde is in charge of arrangements.
