Edna A. Reeves was born on Feb. 27, 1912 in Hiawatha, KS to William J. & Ada Adella (Forkner) Asbury. She passed from this life on Tues., Jan. 11, 2011 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS at the age of 98. Edna attended school & graduated from Concordia High School. She married Alvin "Skinny" J. Reeves on Sept. 25, 1930 in Belleville, KS. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1975. She was a homemaker and member of the First Christian Church and VFW Ladies Aux. #588 of Concordia. Edna moved to Salina in 1995 to be closer to her family. She is survived by her daughter: Judy Istas & husband Don, Salina, KS; son: Jim Reeves & wife Maggie, Assaria, KS; daughter in law: Dianne Reeves Coons & husband Ed, Hutchinson, KS; sister: Dorothy Hobson, Wichita, KS; grandchildren: Tammy (Paul) McAfee, Jennifer (Jeff) Wright, Jodi (Craig) Noah, Doug Reeves, Scott (Betsy) Reeves-Coons, Brad (Kristen) Reeves-Coons, Tim (Betony) Coons, Jennifer (Garet) Fitzpatrick & Jason (Amanda) Walmsley; great grandchildren: Blaine, Spencer, Sara & Brady McAfee, Lindsey & Brock Wright, Matthew Noah, Kolby & Jacob Coons, Evan, Will & Cade Coons, Lucy Coons, Hunter & Easton Fitzpatrick & Jacob Walmsely. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin "Skinny" Reeves; son, Thomas Reeves; grandson, Thomas Reeves, II; sister, Ruth Parker; brother, Claude Asbury. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, Jan. 14, 2011 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Lambert officiating. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 9 PM with family greeting friends from 6-7 PM, Thurs. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. The family suggests memorials to the First Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
