Eileen M. Ransopher was born on Dec. 11, 1944 in Concordia, KS to Leonard & Hulda (Leiszler) Matson. She passed from this life on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009 at the Kay Pogue Hospice Center in Salina, KS at the age of 64. Eileen graduated from Clifton High School in 1962. She married Jack Ransopher on Sept. 4, 1965 in Clara, KS. She then graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor's degree in Education in 1966. Eileen taught in the Clifton & Clyde school district for 20 years until she began working with Jack at Hays Lumber as an office manager. Eileen was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde; a board member for CASA of NCK;a member of the Clyde Economic Development, Clyde Area Foundation and NCK Catbackers. She is survived by her husband: Jack Ransopher, Clyde, KS; daughters, Sandy Parr & husband Donn, Benton, KS & Amy Allen & husband Klay, Houston, TX; parents: Leonard & Hulda Matson, Linn, KS; sisters: Hayley Mathes & husband Mike, Honolulu, HI, Jenell Smith & husband Dennis, Wichita, KS & Irma Jean Blaha & husband Rod, Clifton, KS; grandchildren: Cameron & Delaney Parr, Benton, KS & Katie & Konnor Allen, Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her sister, Cleora Matson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Wed., Oct. 14, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde with Rev. Larry Letourneau officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 8 PM with the family greeting friends from 6-7:30 PM, Tues., Oct. 13, 2009 at Chaput Mortuary, Clyde, KS. Burial will follow the services at Mount Hope Cemetery, Clyde, KS. The family suggests memorials to the Tammy Walker Cancer Center or the Kay Pogue Hospice Center in care of the funeral home.
