Ellen F. Stolzenburg was born on March 29, 1923 in Geneva, Nebraska to Vern and Gladys Clifford DeWitt. She passed from this life on Monday, July 21, 2008 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 85. She graduated from Concordia High School. She married Loy "Eldon" Stolzenburg on April 23, 1947. Last year they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He preceded her in death on February 17, 2008. She was a homemaker. She loved to sew, especially quilts and doll clothes. She enjoyed her grandchildren. She is survived by her sons: Don Stolzenburg and wife Lana of Ames, Kansas; Jim Stolzenburg and wife Marymar, Clifton, Kansas; Grandchildren: Jay Stolzenburg and wife Susan, Salina, Kansas; Mark Stolzenburg and wife Michelle, McPherson, Kansas; Kellea Smith and husband Mark, Minneapolis, Kansas; Tonya Hanson and husband Hans, Concordia, Kansas; Devin, Tristan, Sabrina, and Desi'ree Stolzenburg, Ames, Kansas; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Bohm and husband Leonard, Salina, KS, Lola Jean Cady, Mankato, KS and a brother, Chuck DeWitt, San Marcos, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon; her parents; brothers, Russell, Donnie, Harry and Claude and a sister Margaret. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Rev. Norma Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM Wed. with family greeting friends from 6-7 PM Wed. at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services at Mount Hope Cemetery, Clyde, KS. The family suggests memorials to the Clifton Ambulance Fund.
