Elsine N. Koch, 94 years of age, of Concordia, formerly of Clyde, entered into rest June 11 th , 2015 at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina. Elsine was born May 12 th , 1921 in Green, Kansas to Floyd and Amanda (Knitter) Bushell.  She was a 1939 graduate of Green H.S., Green, Kansas.

She married Edward Chavey on Jan. 27, 1945 in St. Joseph, Kansas.   Elsine and Edward were parents of five children: Tom, Irene, Jean, Maribeth & Mark. Edward passed away June 4, 1966. Elsine later married Herman Koch on August 3, 1974.  He preceded her in death on April 26, 2013.

Elsine was a member of St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church and V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary both of Clyde.  She was a past member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Elsine is survived by 2 sons, Tom Chavey and wife Sue of Manhattan, Mark Chavey and wife Julie of Lenexa; 3 daughters, Irene Tremblay and husband Ray, Jean Sorell and husband Steve , both of Clyde, Maribeth Kieffer of Manhattan; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; 2 step children, James Koch and wife Jacqueline, Thomas and wife Victorine, both of Clyde; 4 step grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; 2 sister-in-law's, Geraldine Bushell of Clay Center, and Bobbye Bushell, of Fresno California.

Elsine was also preceded in death by her parents;  grandson, Brandon; great grandson, Stefan; step daughter, Ann; and step great grandson, Steven; 3 brothers, Paul, Ronald and Waldo Bushell.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 15 th , 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyde with Rev. Larry Letourneau officiating. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery in St. Joseph, KS. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 PM Sunday, June 14 th , 2015 at Chaput Mortuary in Clyde.

A rosary service will be held at 4 PM and a vigil service at 6 PM at the St. John the Baptist Church, Sunday, June 14, 2015. The family will greet friends after the vigil service.   Memorials are suggested to Elsine N. Koch Memorial Fund and will be determined at a later time in care of the funeral home.
