Estalene H. Harrington was born on March 17, 1923 in Washington , KS , the first child of Ray & Clara (Janeway) Cozine. She died on Thurs., Nov. 10, 2011 at Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia , KS at the age of 88.

Estalene graduated from Washington High School as valedictorian and gave the valedictory address. She married Loren Harrington on Jan. 18, 1942 at New Hope Wesleyan Church south of Concordia , KS . Loren and Estalene raised four children, 3 sons and a daughter.

After their youngest child started school, Estalene began working at St. Joseph Hospital as a ward clerk until her retirement after 25 years.

After Loren's passing on June 29, 1990, Estalene began traveling around the world, visiting Germany , Austria , Italy , Egypt , Israel , England , Scotland and Ireland . She also began to take a more active part in her church and the American Baptist Women's Ministries. She also was involved with the Senior Citizen's Center, serving as the President for a period of time, Talk of the Month Club and the County Commission on Aging, where she served in various leadership roles. She also served as President of the Women's division of the county farm bureau. Estalene was an active volunteer in a wide range of capacities.

She is survived by her sons; Dr. Richard Harrington & wife Cheri, Chandler, OK, Roc Harrington & wife Hadas, Concordia, KS & David Harrington & wife MaryAnne, Guymon, OK; daughter, Cheryl Harrington, Concordia, KS; nephew, Mark Cozine, Wichita, KS; nieces, Charlene Harrington, Berkley, CA & Rita Harrington Schultz, Lake Chapala, Mexico; 14 grandchildren & 23 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Loren; grandson, Jeff Sills; brother, Elbert Cozine; nephew, Tim Cozine & niece, Debbie Harrington.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Wed., Nov. 16, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church, Concordia with Pastor Denise Group officiating. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 9 PM with family greeting friends from 6-7 PM Tues. at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery , Concordia. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or First Presbyterian Church.
