Obituary

Eugene "Gene" L. Lanoue passed away from this life on Friday, February 22, 2008 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS at the age of 87.  He was born August 29, 1920 in Concordia, KS to Dona Alec and Gretchen Margarite Hill Lanoue. He attended Concordia Schools. He married Evelyn Joyce Mapel on July 8, 1950 in Concordia, KS. She preceded him in death on June 22, 1967. He married Norma Jackson on July 27, 1973 in Wayne, Nebraska. She preceded him in death on Feb. 5 , 1993. He was a heavy equipment operator. He served in the Army with the 528th Aircraft Artillery Battalion in the Philippines. He was an avid fisher. He was a member of the VFW Post #588 and American Legion Post #76 of Concordia, KS.  He is survived by his da ughter: Sandra Parker & hus Dale, Salina, KS; Son: Steven Lanoue, Mission, KS; Grandchild: Heather Parker, Topeka, KS; Grandchild: Kari Mwathi, Topeka, KS; Grandchild: Cody Lanoue, Mission, KS; Great Grandchildren: Jade and Alex Parker, Ebony and Tavarous Givens,all of Topeka, KS; Brother: James Lanoue, Concordia, KS; Brother: Gerald Lanoue & wife Shirley, Concordia, KS; Sister: Dorothy Cyphers, Concordia, KS. He was preceded in death by his Wives- Evelyn and Norma, Brother- Howard, and Sisters- Delores Schleuder, Aretta Harris.  S ervices will be 10:30AM Monday, February 25, 2008 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.  Visitation will be 2PM to 9PM Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post #76 and VFW Post #588.  The family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers memorials be made to COPD Foundation.
