Eugene "Bud" Louis Trost, 89 years of age, of Aurora, Kansas, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Sunset Nursing Center in Concordia. He was born on January 13, 1936, in a farmhouse, in Huscher, Kansas to Harry Louis and Elma Mary (Revell) Trost.

Bud went to Huscher Grade School and graduated from Concordia High School in 1954. After graduation he served in the Army National Guard until he was honorably discharged.

Bud married the love of his life Dixie (Lavoie) on June 04, 1961. Bud and Dixie had 6 children which they loved dearly.

Bud was an active member of the Huscher United Methodist Church.

Bud was able to farm his whole life until he was unable to work. Bud's greatest  passion was his love for animals, especially horses. He often joked that he liked animals more than people.

Eugene "Bud" is survived by his wife, Dixie; and their children, Danny Trost, Jodi (Jeff) Baker, Sheila (Heath) Jackson, Debbie (Reece) Smith, Brian (Janet) Trost, and Brent Trost, 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Louis and Elma Mary (Revell) Trost, his sister, Marilyn Trost and granddaughter in law, Crystal Trost.

He chose cremation with no visitation.  A family burial will take place at the Nelson Center Cemetery, Huscher, Kansas at a later time.
