Obituary

Eva Louise Hartman, age 81, died Sun., Sept. 7, 2014 at Sunset Home, Concordia. She was born on Dec. 25, 1932 in Concordia to Lloyd Clintsman & Emma (Knipschild) Clintsman, Morgan, Lunbery.

Eva lived with her grandparents and attended Washington grade school in Concordia thru grade 4. She attended school for short periods of time in Delphos, KS, Tampa, FL & K.C., KS due to having to care for her stepbrother. Missing 3 years and no report card, she managed to enter school by the 8th grade with having her brother sit in class with her when he wasn't in his class. Eva graduated from high school in Oxford, NE in 1951. She married Elmer W. Prifogle in 1951 and to this union, two children were born. Eva & the children were abandoned and she worked until she managed to move to Concordia, KS & stayed with her brother, paying him until she found enough work and a place for them to live. In 1961, she married Robert E. Walsh, who adopted the children. This marriage ended in divorce. She married Walter F. Hartman and moved to Oxford, NE. Eva became a caregiver for her mother, Emma Lunbery until her death, & son, Robert E. Walsh, until his death. She and Walter returned to Concordia, where Eva was the caregiver for her husband until his death. Eventually with failing health, Eva moved to Sunset Assisted Living, where she resided until her death. Eva decided to write a book of her life of child abuse and gave copies to others that decided it should be printed. Any proceeds of her book named "Why Me?" are to go to the Children's Advocacy program.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter; son, Robert E. Walsh, Jr.; brother, Carl A. Clintsman; her parents & Uncle, Vern (Nellie) Clintsman.

Walter & Eva met these folks and jokingly called them their 'foster family', who gave them many years of love, fun and care; Vickie (Duane) Geiselman, Arapahoe, NE, Gary Geiselman, Broken Bow, NE, Dana (Bill) Baxter, Stamford, NE & friends, Leon & Loleta Deaver, Concordia.

She is also survived by her daughter, Yolanda Walsh; brothers, LaVerne (Gloria) Clintsman, Concordia; Jim (Nancy) Morgan, Madison, AL & niece, Carla Jo Pata, Hoisington & other nieces & nephews.
