Everett "Wimp" Moore was born on Dec. 20, 1928 in Washington Co., KS to John & Eva (Jones) Moore. He passed from this life at his residence on Sat., Aug. 29, 2009 at the age of 80. Everett graduated from Morrowville High School. He served in the US Navy for 4 years during the Korean War. He married Marjorie Burnett on Nov. 24, 1952 in Washington, KS. Everett was a letter carrier for the US Postal service for about 22 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, American Legion Post#76, a life member of VFW Post #588, a member of the Concordia Country Club/American Legion Golf Course and the National Assoc. of Retired Federal Employees. Everett loved his family and they were always his first priority. He also enjoyed all sports, gardening and was an avid golfer. He always enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren's activities. He is survived by his wife: Marjorie Moore, Concordia, KS; daughters: Monica Grant & husband Terry, Concordia, KS, Marsha Bombardier & husband Tim, Concordia, KS, Martha Bombardier & husband Tom, Smith Center, KS & Margaret Walker & husband Don, Concordia, KS; son: Gerald Moore & wife Aggie, Concordia, KS; brother: Walter Moore, Washington, KS; 15 grandchildren & 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, John; parents & brother, Donald Moore. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Tues., Sept. 1, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Friends may sign the register book from 10 AM to 9 PM, with a Vigil service at 6:30 PM, Mon., Aug. 31, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. The family chose cremation. Burial of the cremains will follow the services at St. Concordia Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588. The family suggests memorials to Meadowlark Hospice or the St. Concordia Cemetery Fund.
