Frances "Babe" Anderson was born on Jan. 23, 1923 in Clyde, KS to Winfield C. & Mary Dorothea (Bottger) Christian. She passed from this life on Mon, Dec. 13, 2010 at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS at the age of 87. Babe graduated from Clyde High School. She married George Anderson on Aug. 3, 1941 in Clyde, KS. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1988. Babe assisted George as a janitor at the Clyde Public High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Clyde and the United Methodist Women. She is survived by her daughter: Jan James & husband Larry, Clyde, KS; grandchildren: Vicky Spurlock & husband Dan, Junction City, KS, Troy Anderson, Wamego, KS, Shannon James & wife Dawn, Abilene, KS & Steven James, Kentwood, MI; & 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; son, Dr. James Anderson; parents; 2 brothers & 1 sister. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Thurs., Dec. 16, 2010 at the United Methodist Church of Clyde with Rev. Anita Strommen officiating. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 8 PM, Wed. at Chaput Mortuary, Clyde. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Clyde. The family suggests memorials to the United Methodist Church of Clyde or the Clyde Ambulance Fund in care of the funeral home.
