Frances Mary Swenson was born November 8, 1912 to Elmer and Mary Elizabeth Vietor Larson in Rural Jamestown, Kansas.  Frances passed away from this life on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at Cheyenne Lodge Nursing Home at the age of 94. She attended Rural Republic County schools and graduated from Scandia High School. She then attended Normal School for teaching and received her teaching degree from Fort Hays State University. She taught in rural Republic County schools, Holyrood, Concordia, and Jamestown. She married Gilbert Swenson on September 22, 1946 in Scandia, KS. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1995.  She was a member of the Jamestown United Methodist Church, the Jamestown Senior Citizens Center, CL&H, and Beaver EHU- 50 year member.  S he is survived by her daughter: Ann Swenson of Wichita, KS; two brothers Edward Larson, Lawrence, KS; and Ralph Larson, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.  Services will be 10:00AM, Monday, November 12, 2007 at the Jamestown United Methodist Church.  Visitation will be 2 PM to 9 PM Sunday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 4 PM to 6 PM.  Burial will be in the Jamestown Cemetery, Jamestown, Kansas.  Memorials may be made to Jamestown United Methodist Church or Jamestown City Library.
