Frank Brunell was born on May 13, 1919 in Aurora, KS to Henry & Agnes (Flynn) Brunell. He passed from this life on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia at the age of 91. Frank graduated from Aurora High School and then attended college at Miltonvale Wesleyan where he received his teaching certificate. He married Lorena Hinson on June 4, 1938 in K.C., MO. Frank was a lifelong Aurora area resident, where he was a teacher, farmer and cattleman. Frank was an active advocate of education, serving on the local school board and then on the Cloud County Community College Board of Trustees from 1967-1993. He also served on the Aurora Co-Op Elevator Board. Frank was a member of the St. Peter's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife: Lorena Brunell, Concordia, KS; daughters: Jane Boling & husband Dick, Aurora, KS, Kay Cummins & husband Don, Aurora, KS & Nancy Simpson & husband Ryan, Baton Rouge, LA; son in law: Jerome Letourneau & wife Norlene, Concordia, KS; 16 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren & 4 step great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cecil; daughters, Patricia Letourneau & Anita Colbert; granddaughter, Kerry Roberts & great grandsons, Evan Cote & Gabriel Letourneau. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Wed, April 20, 2011 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Aurora, KS with Rev. Larry Letourneau and Rev. LeRoy Metro officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM, Tuesday with Vigil services at 6:30 PM all at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. Burial will follow the funeral services at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Aurora. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to St. Peter's Catholic Church, Meadowlark Hospice or Alzheimer's Assoc. in care of the funeral home.
